ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP ORGANISED BY 63 UP BATTALION NCC, UNIVERSITY OF LUCKNOW 63
UP Battalion NCC organised a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at ST Joseph’s School, Ruchi khand from 20 May to 29 May 2023. A total of 496 cadets comprising both Boy & Girl cadets of Senior & Junior Divisions participated in the camp.
During the 10 days camp, Cadets underwent a comprehensive training program which included Physical Training, Drill, Field Craft, Battle Craft, Map Reading. Firing was also carried out under the guidance of Col PP Kishore, the Administrative Officer. The officer stated that it is indeed commendable & heartening to note that almost all the participating cadets had the opportunity of firing Weapon on the range during this CATC, which is a very crucial part of training of NCC Cadets. A number of competitions were also conducted among the Cadets to identify their skills and develop confidence. The Cadets participated in all activities with zeal and enthusiasm and developed a great sense of espirit-de-corps & comraderie amongst each other. The team work displayed by the Cadets in all the activities was quite encouraging.
Brig Neeraj Punetha, the Group Commander visited the camp on 25 May 2023 during which he oversaw all facets of the camp and appreciated the efforts put in by the Unit. He motivated the Cadets for the sincerity and commitment in the NCC. He also awarded the top achieving Cadets of the Training Camp.
An enthralling cultural evening was put up by Cadets on 28 May, the penultimate day in which Mr Anil Agarwal of St Joseph College & Rev Brother TT Mathews of Monfort Inter College attended as guests. A Number of Cadets who had contributed positively during the Camp were duly presented during the event.
The CATC was a huge success due to the leadership of the Commanding Officer Col Harsh Jha and the combined effort of team 63 NCC Battalion encompassing, all the NCC Officers Capt Kiran Lata Dangwal, Capt. Parvez, Lt. Mamta Verma, First Officer Himkant Singh Chauhan, Second officer Kapil Kumar, the Sub Major Arvind Kumar Yadav, the Permanent Instructor Staff of the Unit, the Clerical staff, the Administrative support staff.
