Lucknow University Associated College Teachers Association (Lucta) staged a sit-in on the foundation day with the demands of the teachers at the university gate number one. All the teachers of Luacta joined the strike by taking a mass holiday. Along with this, Luacta was looted and the support of the Ateva organization was also found. Due to the teachers being on mass leave, the teaching work in the colleges was affected. In view of the strike by the teachers, a large number of police were deployed in the university campus. There were also several standoffs between the teachers of Luacta and the police. Due to the teachers being on mass leave, the teaching work in degree colleges including the university came to a complete standstill.
Luacta President Dr. Manoj Pandey said that many times the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister to the higher officials were informed about the pending demands of the teachers but no action was taken, after which the decision has been taken to resolve the problems in a phased manner. . In which the main demands are that along with taking the colleges operated under the self-financed scheme on the grant list, the age of superannuation should be increased to 65 years, casual leave to be increased from 8 to 14, death cum gratuity in case of accidental death, death to the family of the deceased teachers. Merit wise posts in place of third class in dependent service scheme, representation in all committees of the university in the ratio of 80:20, same examination fee for the same course, appointment to the posts of librarian, relaxation in orientation and refresher to 2021 instead of 2018.
