LUTA opposed the government’s Common Minimum Syllabus
Lucknow University Teachers Association (LUTA) has opposed the Common Minimum Syllabus for all subjects prepared by the state government under the new education policy. Describing it as a step to end the academic autonomy of universities, the union said that the government does not decide the curriculum of any university. LUTA President Dr. Vineet Kumar Verma and General Secretary Dr. Rajendra Kumar Verma told that the concept of Common Minimum Syllabus is not in the interest of higher education and students. During the discussion on this in LU, various organizations did not find it appropriate. If the government wants to implement it, then make changes in the Act of the University and implement it. Do not make universities a participant in this. He told that all the departments of LU had prepared a four-year curriculum according to the new education policy by adjusting the distinction of 100 years. But without considering this, the government issued a letter and issued a decree to implement the minimum uniform curriculum created by it. With this, the status of the university will become like inter-colleges!!
