Lucknow University Launches LUCODE for Accessible Higher Education in India

Lucknow University, a venerable institution with over a century of history, has taken a significant step towards realizing the dream of accessible higher education in India. With the inauguration of the Lucknow University Centre of Online and Distance Education (LUCODE), the university aims to bridge the gap between aspiration and reality in the field of education.

Being the first state university in Uttar Pradesh to offer both regular and online education programs, Lucknow University holds a distinguished position. Accredited with NAAC A++ and recognized as a Category 1 university, it has received approval for online education from bodies like the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Starting from the February 2024 semester, Lucknow University has initiated the admission process for the first semester of the BCom and MCom online education programs. The degrees conferred under these programs hold equivalent validity to the university’s regular degrees.

For the BCom program, students will undergo a six-semester (three-year) curriculum similar to that of the university’s regular BCom course. All lectures will be available in both PDF and video formats online, and faculty members will address students’ queries and concerns remotely. The semester examinations will be conducted on-campus in written form after every six months. The registration fee for BCom is ₹250/, and the tuition fee is ₹5000/ per semester.

Similarly, the MCom program entails completing four semesters (two years) with a tuition fee of ₹8000/ per semester, along with a registration fee of ₹250/.

Applications for these programs are open to all citizens of India, irrespective of age, providing a boon especially for those unable to attend university regularly due to various reasons. In the coming years, Lucknow University plans to introduce postgraduate and undergraduate programs in subjects like English, Sanskrit, Ancient Indian History, and Economics.

The deadline for registration and submission of admission forms for both classes is March 31, 2024, after which admissions will be closed as per UGC regulations. Lucknow University’s initiative marks a significant stride towards democratizing higher education in India.

भारत में उच्च शिक्षा सर्वसुलभ हो, इस स्वप्न को वास्तविकता में परिणित करने हेतु तथा शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में नित्य नवीन आयाम जोड़ने हेतु शताधिक वर्षीय लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय ने ऑनलाइन शिक्षा प्रोग्राम LUCODE (Lucknow University Centre of Online and Distance Education) का शुभारम्भ कर दिया है। लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय उत्तर प्रदेश का प्रथम राज्य विश्वविद्यालय है जो रेगुलर तथा ऑनलाइन शिक्षा प्रोग्राम दोनों ही ऑफर कर रहा है। लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय जो कि NAAC A++ तथा कैटेगरी 1 विश्वविद्यालय है, को online education हेतु दूरस्थ शिक्षा ब्यूरो, विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग , नई दिल्ली द्वारा अनुमोदन प्राप्त है। वर्ष 2023 – 24 के फरवरी 2024 से प्रारम्भ होने वाले सेमेस्टर में BCom तथा MCom online education program के प्रथम सेमेस्टर के अंतर्गत प्रवेश प्रक्रिया हो गई है। इन उपाधियों की मान्यता विश्वविद्यालय की रेगुलर उपाधियों के समकक्ष है। BCom उपाधि हेतु विद्यार्थियों को छः सेमेस्टर (तीन वर्ष) उत्तरीण करने होंगे। प्रत्येक सेमेस्टर में छः विषय होंगे जिनका पाठ्यक्रम विश्वविद्यालय के रेगुलर बीकॉम जैसा ही है। विद्यार्थियों को सभी व्याख्यान का पीडीएफ तथा वीडियो ऑनलाइन ही उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। उनकी समस्यायों और प्रश्नों का समाधान भी शिक्षकों द्वारा ऑनलाइन ही किया जाएगा। एसाइनमेंट भी ऑनलाइन होगा। छः माह में मात्र सेमेस्टर परीक्षा हेतु ही विद्यार्थियों को विश्वविद्यालय आना होगा, जो कि प्रत्यक्ष लिखित माध्यम से संपन्न होगी। बी कॉम की रजिस्ट्रेशन फीस ₹250/ तथा शिक्षा शुल्क ₹5000/ प्रति सेमेस्टर है । इसी प्रकार MCom हेतु चार सेमेस्टर (दो वर्ष) उत्तरीण करने होंगे तथा फीस ₹8000/ प्रति सेमेस्टर है। रजिस्ट्रेशन फीस ₹250/ ही है। इन प्रोग्रामों में प्रवेश हेतु सम्पूर्ण भारत देश के सभी नागरिक आवेदन कर सकेंगे तथा अधिकतम आयु सीमा नहीं रहेगी। जो छात्र किसी कारणवश रेगुलर रूप से विश्विद्यालय नहीं आ सकते, उनके लिए यह प्रोग्राम एक वरदान स्वरूप है। आगामी वर्ष में विश्वविद्यालय अन्य पाठ्यक्रम जैसे अंग्रेजी, संस्कृत, प्राचीन भारतीय इतिहास एवं अर्थशास्त्र में स्नातकोत्तर तथा अन्य स्नातक प्रोग्राम भी आरम्भ करेगा। दोनों कक्षाओं हेतु Registration करने तथा प्रवेश फॉर्म भरने की अन्तिम तिथि मार्च 31, 2024 है। यू जी सी के नियमानुसार इस तिथि के उपरान्त प्रवेश बन्द कर दिए जायेंगे।
